Jimmy Carson

Mailed out: October 29, 2014
Returned: November 10, 2014
Return #96

Drafted second overall by the Kings in 1986 Jimmy Carson would only put up 186 points over the next two seasons with the club before being dealt to Edmonton for Wayne Gretzky. Frustrated in Edmonton that he couldn't live up to the hype of being dubbed Gretzkys replacement Carson demanded a trade in 1989, he would be dealt to his hometown Detroit.

I had only sent the Detroit card, I wrote to Jimmy that I was a big Oilers/Red Wings fan he returned an extra Oilers card signed for me, also he used the toonie I included to cover the return postage from the US.

Paul Postma

Mailed out: April 7, 2014
Returned: September 22, 2014
c/o Jets- 168 days Return #58

Last October Postma had a terrible feeling in his leg, he rode an exercise bike and gave it couple days but the pain continued to worsen. Finally Postma had it looked at, that's when the Jets discovered that the pain was due to a potentially dangerous blood clot. After giving it a few months he returned to the line up in February this past season, and netted his first NHL goal in April. His Mom returned the card I sent as well as an extra on the right, plus a nice letter.

He was then traded to the Whalers where he really found his stride, being named captain during his time. Verbeek almost lost his thumb in a farming accident in 1985 when an augar, thanks to his brother and father it was saved. He won the cup with Dallas Stars in 1999. He's currently the assistant general manager to Steve Yzerman with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
