Cool return from Skip Krake today, because the player on the card isn't actually Skip, it's Boston Bruin Dawn Awrey. Topps and O Pee Chee mixed up these two men on the card not only once but in back to back years. Skip played in 249 NHL games between the Bruins, Kings, and Sabres before leaving for the WHA's Cleveland Crusaders. He would spend three seasons there before coming to Edmonton to finish up his career. Skip was nice enough to sign the error cards, include a WHA post card, and respond to my questions

Frank Breault dressed in 17 NHL games for the kings in 90-91 where he would rack up 5 points, the following season he was included as a top prospect for the O-Pee-Chee hockey card set. Breault would only go on to play another 10 games for the Kings, he spent the majority of the time playing in the IHL and AHL.

Charlie Simmer, a member of the Triple Crown Line was waiting for me in my mail box this afternoon. A generous return, I had only mailed out the Cleveland throwback card, Simmer returned it with two extra beautiful Kings cards.

Bernie Nicholls

Excited to find this little envelope in the box today as Bernie is one of my favourite players! Drafted in the 4th round Bernie wasn't expected to be the offensive threat he became with the Kings. His numbers exploded one Gretzky was brought in, scoring 70 goals and adding in 80 apples for 150 points in 79 games in 88/89. The next season the Kings made a push for the cup, they traded Nicholls away to the Rangers. He floated around the league after that, and his numbers never got to where they were when Gretzky was on his line but his leadership and willingness to adapt to coaches systems made him a key player. In 2012 he rejoined the Kings as a coaching consultant, they won the cup that season. I offered for him to keep the Rangers cards, he signed all of them.
