Garry Galley started out at playing for Bowling Green State University, where he was named an NCAA All American, and to the CCHA All Star Game. During his NHL career he played in two ALL Star Games, after retiring Galley became a fixture on sports radio show, today you can hear him on CBC's HNIC. 

Bob Carpenter

Selected 3rd overall by the Washington Capitals in 1981 Bob Carpenter was projected to be the next big super star of the NHL, he was the first ever American hockey player to be featured on the front of Sports Illustrated. He would put up 3 solid 60 point campaigns with the Caps before blowing up and putting up a 53 goal season. After a falling out with Capitals coach Carpenter would be moved to New York, would in turn trade him again that season to Los Angeles. He would sign with Boston, reinventing himself into a strong two way forward, helping lead them to a cup final appearance.
Carpenter would win the one cup as a player, and two more as an assistant coach with the New Jersey Devils.

Chris Nilan

Nilan grew up in Boston idolizing the big bad Bruins, and dreamed of one day being on the team. While on my card he's playing for Boston, he got his break in the league playing for the Canadiens where he was a big time enforcer, he was a member of the 1986 cup team. He would later live out his dream of playing as a Bruin in 1990 for a couple seasons. You can check out some of Nilans best moments down below.

Zdeno Chara

Yet another return for the cup captain collection, today brings only the second ever European born and trained man to wear the C and hoist the cup. Zdeno Chara is that tallest player to ever lace up in the NHL standing at a towering 6'9, the NHL allows Chara to play with a stick 2" longer than what the league allows.  

Johnny Bucyk

Local Edmontonian Johnny Bucyk came back in the mail. He played for the Edmonton Oil Kings, and then played for Detroit Red Wings farm team the Edmonton Flyers. He played a couple decent seasons with the Wings, but was then traded to the Bruins where his career really took off. He played through a few of the Bruins most awful seasons but stuck around in time for fellow stars like Orr to show up, by then the Bruins were dominating the league and won cups in 1970 and 1972. Unfortunately Bucyks career doesn't get the recognition like it deserves because he was over shadowed by other stars on the team. The Bruins didn't have a captain when they won their cups, but elected Bucyk to touch it first.
