Clint Malarchuk

Mailed Out: February 24, 2014
Came Back: March 11, 2014
C/O Calgary Flames - return #6

Clint Malarchuk's name might ring a bell or two, that's because you typically see him on Sportscentres countdowns for one of the most gruesome injuries in professional sports. In 1989 Steve Tuttle's crashed into Marlarchuks net and his skate caught the goalies neck, severing his internal carotid artery (the video is attached below, it's pretty disturbing and surreal to believe he survived it). One of the teams trainers applied pressure to the wound so that he would not bleed out, thus saving the goaltenders life. He played a few more seasons in the NHL, and finished up his pro career in the IHL. Since 2011 he has been the Calgary Flames goaltending coach. This is the second card thats found it's way home for the OPeeChee set. Thank you Mr Malarchuk!

Louis Leblanc

Mailed Out: February 24, 2014
Came Back: March 7, 2014
return #4 - c/o Hamilton Bulldogs
C/O Hamilton Bulldogs

Today I came home to find another envelope waiting for me, when I opened it I found my Louis Leblanc card inside. Unfortunately it looks like Louis sharpie was drying out as his signature fades out. He was drafted 18th overall by the Habs back in 2009 in Montreal right in front of their fans. After a one year stint at Harvard Leblanc left school to start his pro career, unfortunately his success hasn't transitioned over to an NHL level as he's has only drawn into 50 NHL games since 2011, but he's got tons of time yet for that talent to shine though as he's only 23. Thanks for the return Louis!

The first few hockey TTM successes - Norm Ullman, Henri Richard, Bryan Little

return #1, #2, #3
c/o home

Recently my parents home caught fire, I had taken my set of O Pee Chee 91/92 cards out along with a few other cards not long before. I started looking into TTMing a month or so after the fire and sent out a few cards to see what I could get in return. Over a week and a half period Hall of Famers Norm Ullman and Henri Richard returned my cards to me in faster time than you wait for Air Canada to track down your luggage and get it back to you.

Unfortunately after that I didn't see much success until today. I had mailed out a batch of cards without any top loaders on February 24th, and today on March 6th I found an envelope waiting for me when I got home. It felt hard inside so I had no idea who the return was from other than the fact that it had a Canadian stamp on it. When I opened it I found 2013 O Pee Chee card of Bryan Little, signed and placed in a top loader. I had used the Jets star players parents address.
