Dennis Kearns rights were held by the Chicago Blackhawks, with the team being deep at defence Denis played four seasons with the WHL's Portland Buckaroos. While in Portland Kearns racked up 117 points and picked up second, and first all star team honours in 1969, and 1970. He would go on to play one more season in the minors, this time with the CHL's Dallas Black Hawks where he would rack up 52 points, and another first all star team honour. With his offensive talents budding, and Chicago's blue line still as crowded as it was five seasons ago the team left him unprotected and the Vancouver Canucks picked him up. He exploded onto Vancouver's blue line, and for the next ten seasons he showed the hockey world why The Hockey News called him the "Dennis Potvin of the west".He took the time to answer my question of what was his most memorable moment as a NHL pro:
