Perry Berezan is my first card back from my OPeeChee set. The former Flame, who is a product of Edmonton might I add, scored one of the most famous goals against the Oilers in franchise history. In the 1986 Smythe finals as I'm sure all Oilers fans are aware Steve Smith scored on his own net, what most people aren't aware of is that Berezan was credited with the goal. He can be seen in the youtube video below dumping the puck into the Oilers zone and then returning to the Flames bench, which meant that he was the last Flame to touch the puck therefore he was credited with the goal that knocked the Oilers dynasty out of the playoffs that season... all while sitting on the bench. He went on to play a couple more seasons with the Flames before playing for the Stars and Sharks, which included being a member of the Sharks first season in the NHL. Berezan had a pretty good fall back career after his playing days were done, becoming a financial advisor in Calgary - which is where I sent my card to, he added another Stars card as well as a personalized NHL alumni 4x6 picture featuring Perry in a Flames uniform. Thank you so much Mr Berezan!
