Drafted 5th overall by the Canucks in 1979, Rick Vaive only played one season for the Canucks before being dealt to the Maple Leafs in a deal that brought Dave Tiger Williams to Vancouver. He flourished with the Maple Leafs becoming their first ever 50 goal scorer, he also wore the C until he missed a morning practice and it was stripped.
